Welcome!
The Division of Clinical Oncology, part of the Department of Internal Medicine I at the Medical University of Vienna and Vienna General Hospital, is one of the leading national and international institutions in the field of cancer research and treatment.
The scientific focus is on oncological precision medicine and immunotherapy, combined with a wide range of translational and clinical studies.
Our division employs specialists for various types of cancer who ensure that every patient is treated at the cutting edge of science and in accordance with international guidelines. As part of our scientific work and in fulfillment of our mission as an institution, we also offer the possibility to participate in a large number of clinical trials, which are intended to provide access to state-of-the-art therapies on the one hand and to advance the level of knowledge in a controlled, ethically reviewed and insurance-backed approach on the other.
Apart from this it is also our aim to use state-of-the-art therapies to improve the quality of life of our patients and to recognize the dignity of every person regardless of age, gender, social background, culture, religion, nationality or sexual orientation. All our patients should experience acceptance and appreciation of their person, their individuality and their self-determination. Furthermore we offer our patients diagnostic and therapeutic procedures at the highest international level in cooperation with other departments and clinics of the General Hospital and the Medical University of Vienna as one big network.
We see oncology as an attractive field of development for young colleagues and offer modern, research-led teaching and training.
