General research interests
I am investigating the molecular mechanisms that determine organ recovery or failure during critical disease in the context of severe infection and/or injury. While my main research focus is innate immunity and inflammation-induced immunopathology in the lung, I am also interested in all aspects of macrophage biology, hematopoiesis, cronic viral infection, RNA editing in immune cells and inflammation/coagulation crosstalk.
