In addition to consultant positions, there are also options available for the training of younger colleagues in rotations.
These are offered both as a way to meet the training requirements of the Austrian Medical Chamber for achieving the level of specialist in internal medicine and the additional qualification in Intensive Care Medicine (see 2006 Physicians' Training Regulations), as well as for those required for the subspecialism in Internal Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine (see 2015 Physicians' Training Regulations). The availability of a specialist physician is guaranteed at all times, day and night, in order to ensure optimum patient care.
