General information
Echinococcosis is one of the most prominent and harmful parasitic diseases among humans in Central Europe. It is also commonly known as dog tapeworm or fox tapeworm disease. Our special outpatient clinic treats patients who have been diagnosed with echinococcosis, or people who are suspected of having the condition, in line with the latest research findings. Collaboration between specialists from a range of medical disciplines (including infectious diseases, internal medicine, surgery, radiology and interventional radiology) ensures the design of diagnostic and treatment strategies tailored specifically to each individual patient. The only facility of its kind in Austria, our clinic’s structure and approaches are based on those of leading international centres.
This section of the website tells you more about echinococcosis, our diagnostic and treatment services, as well as contact details if you are referred to our clinic as a patient.
