Kensuke Miyake, MD, PhD
Tokyo Medical und Dental UniversityDr. Kensuke Miyake is an immunologist specializing in allergic inflammation and basophil biology. He received his MD in 2014 and PhD in 2017 from Tokyo Medical and Dental University under the supervision of Prof. Hajime Karasuyama. His doctoral and postdoctoral research has focused on the unique functions of basophils in both allergic and non-allergic responses.
In 2024, Dr. Miyake was appointed Associate Professor at the Institute of Science Tokyo. His current research explores the regulatory functions of basophils in skin and lung inflammation. Notably, his group discovered that basophil-derived IL-4 promotes the resolution of allergic dermatitis and contributes to the resolution of acute lung inflammation through immune modulation.
