Cecilia Andersson, PhD, Associate Professor
Lund UniversityDr. Cecilia Andersson is an Associate Professor in Experimental Lung Medicine and Immunology at Lund University, Sweden. After completing a PhD in Respiratory Medicine and Allergology in 2011, she conducted postdoctoral research at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London. Dr. Andersson leads a translational research group at the Medical Faculty, Lund University, and her research focuses on the role of mast cells in chronic lung diseases, including asthma, COPD, and virus-induced exacerbations. By combining advanced in vitro models with patient-derivedmaterial, Dr. Andersson has identified novel mast cell phenotypes in a variety of chronic inflammatory lung diseases and studied their impact on epithelial barrier function and tissue repair, contributing to the development of personalized therapeutic strategies.
