SRM Institute of Science and Technology

Mrinmoy Das, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Medical Research, SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, India. He received his PhD in Immunology from Sorbonne University (University Pierre et Marie Curie-Paris 6). He conducted his postdoctoral and instructor-level research at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA.

Dr. Das’s research focuses on mast cells and basophils in allergic inflammation, skin immunity, and host-pathogen interactions, with an emphasis on atopic dermatitis and food allergy. His work has provided key mechanistic insights into basophil-derived cytokine signaling, mast cell expansion, epithelial immune crosstalk, and immune dysregulation driven by microbial exposure.  Dr. Das has also made important contributions to understanding immune regulation more broadly, including research on regulatory T cell-basophil interactions, immunoglobulin-mediated immune modulation, autophagy, and cytokine signaling pathways that shape chronic inflammatory responses.

He has published extensively in leading journals, including Immunity, Science Immunology, Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, JCI Insight, and Cell Death & Disease. Currently, he serves as an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Medicine and a Topic Editor for Frontiers in Allergy. Dr. Das is an active mentor and international collaborator, with sustained contributions to translational allergy and immunology research bridging basic mechanisms to clinical relevance.
