Nicola Diny, PhD
University of BonnDr. Nicola Diny is a junior group leader at the University of Bonn (Germany) since 2023. Her research group focuses on eosinophil plasticity, studying tissue adaptation and function in homeostasis and disease. She received her PhD from Johns Hopkins University (USA) and continued her postdoctoral studies at the Francis Crick Institute (UK). During her training, Dr. Diny uncovered the role of eosinophils as drivers of inflammation and chronic adverse remodeling of the heart. She continued to study eosinophils, focusing on homeostatic tissue adaptation and functions. Supported by EMBO and Welcome fellowships, Dr. Diny identified transcriptional regulators of eosinophil adaptation in the intestine and how this process modifies eosinophil phenotype and function in the tissue environment.
